Hmmm, a day or so ago, I mentioned something regarding the prime roy jones avoiding many top guys and fighting 2nd tiers instead, and after his prime was gone, then suddenly roy started taking those fights, but it was too late.

Steve Collins was one of those guys the prime roy avoided just as he did:
Dariusz Michalczewski.
Joe Calzaghe.
Bernard Hopkins rematch.
James Toney rematch.
Gerald McClellan.
Julian Jackson.
Nigel Benn.

Quit trying to pass yourself off as a boxing guru because that list ^ is borderline know nothing.

actually, dude is right on the money. jones ducked tough fights for years! and it made me hate him for it~!!! and i used to be a jones fan!!! before i saw the truth....

Urban legend. The same people he is accused of ducking can also be accused of ducking him. Nothing has changed in that regard. False facts do not exist and that includes accusations of Roy Jones ducking people. Venue and ego played just as big a role then as it does now. And some of the fights he was expected to make in this thread are laughable and rebutted easily by just using a calender. I've seen people actually accuse Roy of ducking Calzaghe at 168 and yet Roy was well on his way at 175 when Joe became a WBO 168 champ.
