Canelo is a very reasonable fight for Floyd to take. It's a good fight for boxing, because if Canelo manages to beat Floyd, we have another boxing superstar to carry boxing into a post-Mayweather/Pacquaio future. I love guys like Andre Ward, but they just aren't going to carry the sport.

I'm glad this fight is being taken seriously now. If Floyd fought him just 2 short years ago, people would have shit on Floyd for picking on a young, unproven guy.

Of course they would have because he was a young, unproven guy then. I had always thought him to be incredibly overrated, until he beat Austin Trout, who was coming off a thrashing of Miguel Cotto. That was a real win. He proved himself in that fight. I thought Trout was going to take that one on the cards, and I was wrong. I'm not suggesting that by beating Trout Canelo is god's gift to the junior middleweight division, but I mean up until then, I'm not even sure he had faced a true junior middleweight.
