12 kos in 26 fights... He isn't goong to hurt Froch and he sure as shit won't outwork him... Certaintly not in terms of strength endurance.
Cleverly will be stronger than Froch, thats just physics. Froch walks round just 2 or 3 pounds over the super middle limit. Cleverly may not be the biggest puncher in the world but he is certainly one of the fittest light heavies out there. Hopkins doesnt want any part of him because he knows it would be Calzaghe over again and hed have to resort to crawling round on the floor boo hooing again
He does want Froch though and what an exciting spectacle that would be![]()
Just when people were starting to warm to Froch including myself, he starts with his pretentious bile like before he fought any names and had delusions of grandeur...
Here he is moaning about Cleverly and Groves sparring with Kessler and apparemtly Groves gets knocked out in sparring all the time
"It just sums up what they are," he says. "I'm a British fighter but they'd rather go out there and help a foreign fighter prepare for the biggest fight of my career. It just shows the state of British boxing in terms of people working with each other.
"Groves isn't my friend and neither is Cleverly, so they can do what they want, but really, as British fighters, shouldn't they have a bit more class about them?
"They both want to fight me but are bitter and jealous because it's not happening as I'm a league above the pair of them. It's not going to help Kessler in preparation for me as neither of them can mimic my style or have my resolve.
"I certainly wouldn't help a foreign fighter prepare for a British fighter and I've not spoken to anybody who would. Adam Booth [Groves's trainer] is supposed to be a friend but he obviously has done what he thought was right for George Groves with no consideration for Carl Froch. "But Groves has got a chip on his shoulder anyway. He won't spar with me because he considers himself a potential opponent, though he is the only one that does. Nobody is going to take him seriously until he has had a couple of fights with decent people and stops getting knocked out in sparring, which seems to be happening quite regularly."
Boxing: Carl Froch slams fellow Brits for sparring with Mikkel Kessler - Others - More Sports - The Independent
Wow Carl is behaving like a dick, Groves and Cleverley want to work with a quality fighter, get paid and gain some experience. I am sure he would have done the same in their position.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
I think Froch is being looked at with Rose tinted glasses now because of the Bute result. Also, his last fight was against a week light heavy that was drained down to supermiddle.
We are talking about Kessler, probably the strongest supermiddle out there other than Froch. Dont even mention Ward because Bika would not have had these two shamelessly holding in the last few rounds.
I think Kessler will just come in sharper. This is why he has these lads for sparring.
Being sharp only helps him if Froch fights the same fight as last time though.
Andrade and Froch are worlds apart.
I think Froch was allowed the Mack fight, he'd consistantly fought the best for years... It may have been a gimme but when you look objectively at each fighter's last 6 - it's hardly relevant.

Each fighters last 6 is also irrelevant.
Before Froch had even fought Robin Reid, his first former world champion, or world title challenger, Kessler had travelled the world and fought Dingaan Thobela, Manny Siaca, Anthony Mundine, Eric Lucas, Marcus Beyer, Librado Andrade and Joe Calzaghe. All world class at some point or other and Kessler is younger than Froch.
Kessler didnt have the super 6 back then but he was willing to travel the world and fight world class fighters, unlike Froch who was fucking around in England fighting the likes of Tony Dodson and Matthew Barney![]()
So basically Kessler hit his peak several years before Froch did? I don't really see that as an advantage for Kessler...
A fighter who is years closer to his peak fighting consitently better opposition recently than one who seems to have peaked years earlier seems very relevant to me...![]()
