Cleverly will be stronger than Froch, thats just physics. Froch walks round just 2 or 3 pounds over the super middle limit. Cleverly may not be the biggest puncher in the world but he is certainly one of the fittest light heavies out there. Hopkins doesnt want any part of him because he knows it would be Calzaghe over again and hed have to resort to crawling round on the floor boo hooing again

He does want Froch though and what an exciting spectacle that would be

Just when people were starting to warm to Froch including myself, he starts with his pretentious bile like before he fought any names and had delusions of grandeur...

Here he is moaning about Cleverly and Groves sparring with Kessler and apparemtly Groves gets knocked out in sparring all the time

"It just sums up what they are," he says. "I'm a British fighter but they'd rather go out there and help a foreign fighter prepare for the biggest fight of my career. It just shows the state of British boxing in terms of people working with each other.

"Groves isn't my friend and neither is Cleverly, so they can do what they want, but really, as British fighters, shouldn't they have a bit more class about them?

"They both want to fight me but are bitter and jealous because it's not happening as I'm a league above the pair of them. It's not going to help Kessler in preparation for me as neither of them can mimic my style or have my resolve.

"I certainly wouldn't help a foreign fighter prepare for a British fighter and I've not spoken to anybody who would. Adam Booth [Groves's trainer] is supposed to be a friend but he obviously has done what he thought was right for George Groves with no consideration for Carl Froch. "But Groves has got a chip on his shoulder anyway. He won't spar with me because he considers himself a potential opponent, though he is the only one that does. Nobody is going to take him seriously until he has had a couple of fights with decent people and stops getting knocked out in sparring, which seems to be happening quite regularly."

Wow Carl is behaving like a dick, Groves and Cleverley want to work with a quality fighter, get paid and gain some experience. I am sure he would have done the same in their position.

Its always been bubbling under the surface with Carl. This is why hes never had the following that Hatton had. His work ethic deserves it but his attitude and personality just turns people off him big time.

It used to sound a hundred times worse when hed never even fought a ranked fighter.

Eddie Hearn must look at stuff like this and just put his head in his hands. All that good work hes done with Froch and something like this can just turn fans away from buying tickets. Someone whos struggling with money who was umming and ahhing about buying the fight or even going to it, Carl may just make their minds up for them with comments like this.

What are you talking about ? He has a point, I used to be a Groves fan but he is way too full of himself recently and I wouldn't trust Adam Booth as far as I could throw him. The guy comes across like a confidence trickster. He talks about all the improvements he sees in his fighters and then they come out and fight with the same glaring flaws as before. Booth tried to talk up Andy Lee's last fight and though understandable to a degree it was pretty shambolic. If Groves really saw himself as a Froch opponent the best thing he could do is take advantage of the opportunity to spar with him.

"all the good work Hearn has done with Froch"
seriously the guy has just creamed the profits of someone else's work. Froch has earned his own reputation and most fans can respect that. You seem to be the one with something bubbling under the surface.

Froch knocked Groves out in sparring a couple of years ago. DeGale taunted him about it in the build-up to their fight.

Froch sounding like a dick will not harm sales in anyway whatsoever. Expect more of this shit over the next week as they try and sell the PPV.

Hearn has done a great job for Froch.

This has nothing to do with Groves.

Its Froch thats crying about him. Groves has said nothing.

What is Groves supposed t do, phone and check with Carl each time someone wants to spar with him? Get fucking real! Its got fuck all to do with Carl! If Carl was that bothered he could have said to Groves "Sont go and spar with Kessler, spar with me and ill pay you more" but he hasnt, so he cant bitch about it.

For Froch to start spitting bile about Groves and how hes getting beaten up in sparring but what has Groves done or said to Carl? Nothing, all hes done is taken up an opportunity to further his career and Froch doesnt like it. Maybe he never got those same opportunities and hes just jealous?

own career Carl, they don't tell you who you can spar with.!

I don't know if he's serious or not but it seems to me just to be pre-fight hype to get people excited about it, as if we aren't already.

Groves defending himself for sparring with Kessler. Says hes willng to step in, if either drops out.

Also says “I’ve sparred with both,” said the London fighter yesterday. “I sparred with Carl before his first fight with Kessler in 2010. I suppose I’ve had a better look at both of them than most have, and for me there’s a clear winner, but I’m afraid I can’t really share that. It wouldn’t be fair on the lads in the gym.”
“They are both really experienced now. It was a toe-to-toe fight the first time, but I think it’ll be a much more technical fight this time.”

I think hes on about Kessler winning and that he wants a fight with Froch soon because he believes he will beat him. It also makes me wonder whether he has openly said he will step in at short notice because he knows Kessler is injured...
