..... and that's cool, bro. All respect to you. No fighter in the history of boxing has ever been universally liked. But you and I can discuss things logically and rationally, because you're not so consumed by biased hate, that you would immediately dismiss everything someone else says to you..... unlike another someone I will choose not to mention at this time.

Bro.... Douglas was decked by a vicious uppercut from one of the hardest punchers in history. PLUS.... he was clearly dominating the fight to that point. He was pissed that he made a mistake, and allowed himself to get caught. MUCH different than DLH against B-Hop. Yes... as you clearly put it.... Oscar was not going to win that fight no matter what. When he went down from that glancing body shot, he pounded the canvas again and again and again (bad acting job). Everybody and their brother questioned not only the punch, but the fight itself. BIG DIFFERENCE from the Douglas fight.

I can tell this to you, because you're a logical thinking adult. I mention it to the other guy, whose name will remain unsaid, and all he does is begin with the insults and shit. Which is why I've given up on the use of logic with him.

Yes he did, Brock. And even though you intensely disliked Trinidad, as you said yourself, you're adult enough and man enough to give him his props on that. He lost convincingly? Yes he did. I've always been adult and man enough to admit THAT. But again..... we're discussing this like two rational adults.

.... and again, that's fine, Brock. To each his own. We all have our own tastes. One thing I can tell you about Trinidad though, is that he enjoyed fighting inmensely. He came into the ring with a smile, and enjoyed every single thing about the fight game. He loved representing his country, and that's why he's so beloved here in Puerto Rico. He was also extremely fan-friendly. Never did he turn away a request for an autograph or picture. I met him personally, and can attest to that.

He made excuses when he lost? Yes. So do a lot of other WINNING fighters. Like I proved to the other dude although he won't admit it..... you lose your undefeated record.... 99% chance you'll be making excuses. It goes with the territory. Only a damn fool would say only this fighter does it, "but not MY fighter". And no... Oscar was not prone to make excuses. But he had plenty of other things I didn't like. Like I said, to each his own.

thanks man. I am not a hater based on race or religion or anything. I just base it on personality I guess. Tito wasnt so bad after all I mean personality that is. I didnt hate him but I never liked him as a personality. I DO know he hit hard, and I like hard hitters. Foreman and Rocky are my 2 favorites I think.

I always liked Trinidad, especially during his WW career. I think that,as he moved up, he got to left hook happy and sort of neglected his other weapons. (though he did win one of his 154 fights with a right hand to the solar plexus) Also, for what it is worth, Trinidad vs DLH was the only fight I can recall where I cheered for the PR fighter over the Mexican or Mexican-American fighter.
No ethnic issues here, I just grew up watching Lopez and Olivares, Chacon, et al...and spent my time in Mexican gyms.

I dunno man. I'm not huge on Oscar and he's alot of things but punk quitter doesn't come to mind. Fishnets and Manny stool aside. Wasn't that a liver shot? I've been hit in the liver by someone and would have prefered to be shot in the nuts. Slighting him is same as slighting Hopkins. It was a money grab fight..Oscar wasn't a middle at all...but he wasn't acting.

Like you said, you been hit there before. You kno how it feels. I agree 100% it's a terrible feeling. We kind of have an idea what Oscar was feeling. But someone who never in there life ever been in a fight wouldn't inderstand that. There the ones who think getting hit in the liver by a much bigger fighter wouldn't hurt.

I just don't really like Trinidad because he got a fucking huge gift against Oscar and i will never understand why he did it is like Bradley Pac no way he won that fight. Also i am not sure were people rate him but i think he was a huge welterweight and once he was not huge compared to his opponent and they boxed he looked a fool really. Some one at that level not being able to deal with movement really makes me wonder some times its like how can you not have any kind of plan b at all.

I hated Tito for beating Campus and Carr who were my favourite fighters when they were both undefeated. Then I got to like him and appreciated his freakish power. Supported him all the time except against Vargas. His comeback fights were embarrassing against Winky and Jones although loved his destruction of Mayorga.

It was clear from the DLH fight that Trinidad would NEVER win against a fighter with good defence and one that knew how to REALLY box. We all know Oscar DLH was robbed in their fight- and Winky, Hopkins and Jones exposed him for not having the tools/skills to crack a good fighter's defence.

He is lucky Hopkins, that night, didn't seriously hurt him....
    Bigger man George, bigger punch!
