Alvarez is a better fighter than Hatton. More tools, more skills.
I made a thread about Alvarez over 3 years ago because I know The Goods when I see it...

Hatton was a good fighter and was in fact The Man at 140, but there's a clear difference in class here between Alvarez and Hatton, just as there was a difference when Hatton fought both Pacquiao and Mayweather and was out-classed by both. joe cortez helped Mayweather, but even without his help, I can't see Hatton winning that one.

I really cant see Hatton winning either but there were way to many times Cortez broke up the action for no reason when Hatton was putting on some pressure and Floyd was getting pounded on and Hatton had him on the ropes. No clinch or anything.

That could have made a huge difference in the fight. It definately saved Floyd from taking quite a few shots.

I totally agree with Duran. Now, the question is; who's able to do that without being pot shotted by floyd? I am not sure that Alvarez has the tools for it.

I think everyone tries this and it doesn't work.. Now in canelos favor it could work because he will probably come in at around 170 something. But I feel his height is pretty mistaken last time vs trout they were both suppose to be 5'9 but it turned out Canelo was 5'7.5 then when you see guerrero vs mayweather it says he is 5'8. Canelos best chance will be patience in the middle of the ring and throw nice stiff jabs with his head down when ever floyd throws. Then work off the ones that land, if not relocate and wait for his next move. But everyone tries to brawl him, if he's taller then go for it cuz he can get over the shoulder roll. But if not then sit patiently and throw when thrown at. The way to beat a fighter is to get him out of his element well by going crazy your keeping floyd in his best which is defense you need to make him take the first move.

Floyd would have taken more shots, especially to the body, and it would've been a better fight if Cortez had let them fight instead of robbing the paying public with his bull$#!t, but I don't think Hatton would've come out the winner. He would've got his pound of flesh each rd, but Floyd still would've been winning the rds. Cortez robbed everybody of a good fight.

Some have tried this and failed. The only difference is that canelo is THE BIGGEST guy floyd has ever fought. And that give him the leverage to use this "mauling" tactic. But if canelo forgets he can also box and use the jab to get in on floyd, he'll be countered into a KO IMO.

But look at the arm difference guys http://l1.yimg.com/bt/api/res/1.2/hs...ACEOFF-310.jpg

Canelo is a much thicker guy. Floyd could get hurt.

Duran also picked Robert Guerrero to beat Mayweather and compared it to his own matchup against Leonard.

Guerrero promised a lot but did not deliver anything close to what he said he was going to do.

Duran I'm pretty sure was expecting Mayweather to like Leonard, instead of fighting like Paul Malignaggi

Yes he went back to running, at least in the Cotto fight he stood and made it a entertaining fight.

I like how master ring generalship, hitting and not getting hit, effective aggression and dominating every opponent he ever faced is akin to running. How many rounds has the guy lost in his career? Castillo probably won more in their first fight then all other opponents combined. And how many opponents tried to maul, crowd and trap him? Lets get real here, the pharmacist at the local drug store that does not even follow the sport would give the same advice.

The kid at least imo has the best chance to beat Floyd then any other that came before him and he wont have Cortez in the ring to ruin his chances.
