When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough
Charley Burley
Classy and fantastic ambassadors for the sport, their dominance has to be respected. They're just not particularly entertaining, they'd be the complete package otherwise.
As people you have to give them respect, they sort of just take it.
As boxers I understand what they do works, but I just don't really like it.
They are allowed to fight bum after bum without anyone quizzing them on it.
While their fans who mostly know nothing about boxing believe that Pianeta and others are deserving of the shot they're given.
You say tomato,
‘n I say …… it correctly.
I agree on Wladimir, but not on Vitali. After a 4 year lay off, Vitali came back and fought Sam Peter, Juan Carlos Gomez followed by Chris Arreola followed by an undefeated Kevin Johnson. At the time, that was a pretty impressive comeback. Vitali doesn't really duck challenges and takes on pretty much anyone regardless of how dangerous an opponent they seem. He also doesn't hold than much and his fights are plenty more entertaining than he is given credit for.
I have alot more respect for Wladimir since the David Haye fight. Bottom line, regardless of how interesting (or lack there of) the fight was, that was a career defining fight for Wlad and he pretty much passed that test without much issue. People give David Haye alot of shit but if you think an athletic heavyweight with fantastic reflexes and speed and one punch knockout power in both hands isn't a dangerous opponent then you don't know boxing.

The records of Wladimir's opponents starting with Ruslan Chagaev. Sure you can mention the Pianetta's and Mormecks, and yes I understand but he's also fought some very good albeit underrated fighters. Wladimir has been active and is constantly on the lookout for new challenges. Sometimes being an active champion is difficult as fighters aren't prepared to fight you or they need more time to get in shape, or they want to delay the inevitable loss.
Wlad doesn't fight bums because he wants to, he's fought guys that he has completely outclassed because they have been willing to fight him. I would love for more fighters to truly EARN their shots but in today's game everyone clings too tight to that 0 on their record
Only thing I can criticize is Wlad's safety first style.. I know he's fighting smart but that doesn't change the fact that he's boring.. With the size and the tools that he possesses, he could be a killer if he wanted to..
There is nothing wrong with his resume btw. Boxers can only fight the best opponents who are available to them and it's not the Klits fault that the division is so shitty .
