Even from his early career, the legs and balance have always been horrible. He really does look shot up now. Legs stiff and getting punchy, he sounded bad in that interview. He is the quintessential definition of a raw rushed product who learned his mistakes and never corrected them.
I think it's obvious why Berto Fell off the championship carousel, a true champ never forgets to keep leaning and Berto although you can blame some of his injuries if you want, thought he could ride forever and forgot that he has to sweat. You might say that New York lottery slogan,"You Have got to be in it to win it." His layoffs and according to others, his overrating cost him wins because like many so called overrated fighters he believed all that was written about him when times were better. It goes like this,"Believe nothing you read and only half of what you see." Oh yes, the part about seeing could be toned down because of special effects. The rest of the reasons, most guys in this forum can come up with only makes the truth hard for Berto to bare. Who knows, journeyman or just a case of going back to school where he should have stayed. Was he just temporarily off track or did he drop the baton?
