Dont think Shane ducked anyone just went for the big fights he knew were waiting for him.
Kostya could of fought above his weight at any time he wanted to physically with ease but thats smart business staying where he performed best his weight drops to 140 was an art in itself.
If they had met it would be close on the cards if Kostya failed to stop him, Shane could out point him in the fast draw and move out sideways early on but I think Shane would of tasted some of that power a few times mid way in, cause speed verses timing can go against the speed demon like a head on accident.
Kostya loved breaking down all the stages eventually catching people on the move then closing in and bullying them into submission. Shane probably would of seen most shots comming in and with no surprises got to shake them off and move out more. Hard call cause the only proven way to beat Kostya turned out to be beat him down and over power him nose to nose at his own game.

    I can explain it.

Yep, I see this fight as speed verses timing, and Kostya had fantastic timing that beat faster opponents like when Tszyu made Zab do the Judah Shuffle. Ali had the Ali Shuffle, Zab had the Judah Shuffle....

It would have been a great bout, Shane had a stronger chin than Zab.

Zab gets so much stick because he acted a prat for throwing the stool at the ref when he lost the fight.

He was not in a fit state to continue so what was his problem.

He was suppose to be an ATG and wanted to continue at his own risk, that sounds like courage to me. I'll never get what people wanted from Zab.

The point is he was in no fit state to carry on, his legs said as much. No criticism in his willingness to carry on but certainly there was in his reaction to the loss. If you lose you do not attack the ref.

I guess but this is why fighters cherry pick you get more respect for beating nobodies than losing to the best.

I'm sure he did losing like that he wasn't suppose to have a career after that they've been saying his career was over every fight since than.

I've seen shitload of boxers crying inside the locker room.

Losing is one thing but imagine if you got robbed. All the training and the sacrifices go down the drain.

Boxing really is the toughest sport period. The emotional roller coaster boxers have to deal with is just fuckin crazy and its no wonder why many of them are so moody.

Yeah he had a big mouth at the time, like Mitchell he got ungentlemanly out of the ring towards his opponent and paid for it with the crowds hatred of it when you cant back it up.
