Floyd Mayweather could demand Alvarez wear chainmail leggings and still make 152 pounds, if Alvarez agrees to it that's all there is to it! Whoever doesn't meet the contractual obligation is at fault. How is THAT hard to understand?

I don't think it's a "pussy" move, because Mayweather is a much smaller man and the catch weight makes sense. I do tend agree that Alvarez' belts shouldn't be on the line however, but that's a different argument and the integrity of the alphabet gangs are to blame for that.

I wouldn't have a problem with the catchweight if he had never fought at 154 before. But he has. One fight ago. Not only that but he had no problem preaching to anybody that would listen that he was only doing it cuz he wanted to face Cotto at his best and blah, blah, blah. What's the goal now? Face Alvarez at his worst? I mean come on. Lets call it what it is. A pussy move. I don't dislike Mayweather. Never have. I defended him plenty of times. One only needs to look at the Mayweather-Pacquiao and Mayweather-Hatton threads and see for themselves. But I'm not gonna ignore or make lame excuses for him when he's clearly in the wrong. It doesn't work that way. At least for me it doesn't.

No fighters actually want to fight anybody at their best, but of course they all say that before every fight. I never denied that Floyd wanted an edge on the weight, just pointing out that it's Canelos fault for accepting it if he wasn't confident in making it. Floyd doesn't need anyone to make excuses for him here, he called the terms and it's Alvarez who has seemingly already got an out.

This wouldn't be a big deal to me if Floyd hadn't bashed others for fighting at catchweights. Obviously, Floyd and his father think this will play a part on giving Floyd a significant advantage. We all know Floyd is one of the smartest boxers to grace the square circle. Maybe his next move will be to have his father wrap Canelos hand ala dirty Hopkins.
In the end I give both of these guys credit for this fight. Canelo turned pro before he was eighteen, fighting in those shady Mexican basically underground fights. He has been wanting to fight Floyd way back then, he probably would have fought him when he was sixteen if he had the chance. Canelo, at this point, probably could have waited for his skills to improve after a few more name fights and I give Floyd credit for taking on a young powerhouse.
We all know Floyd could make Canelo look silly but what if Canelo can get through and actually throw of Floyd's fight plan. This is definitely a Floyd fight that I can, with reason, actually think it might be exciting. The money, as always, will be on Floyd but you feel something could happen here. I was so sure Floyd would be looking for an opponent he could knockout to give the Floyd fans something they have been looking for for years other than his usual cheap shots.

Canelo has fast hands and very good timing. So I can see a fast right hand like Shane Mosely landed and Saul finishing Floyd off.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
