The round was practically over. I wanted Gonzales to win, but there was so much time to recover in the break. Doesn't anyone else think it was premature?

It was a good stoppage, he was royally fucked. The 2nd knockdown looked like it was off a stiff jab. He went down real awkward like, he was done.

He would was gonna beat the count. And being the champion he should of got the chance to recover. But he was hurt. And I'm not sure he would of made it out the 2nd

Sure, the second knockdown wasn't a big one like the first, it was more an accumulation KD and with the entire minute to recover you can come back. People like Marquez have shown that, but others like Hatton have shown you sometimes don't, but for a champion you need to be given that respect and chance. It seemed extreme to stop it so quickly, Mares wasn't exactly asking to be carried to his corner like Cleverly and wasn't out of it mentally.He would was gonna beat the count.
