They're still supposed to have some kind of partnership which is why Schaefer is so pissed off. But Hatton Promotions is basically just a north west England promoter, they've never had a single world champion, they went nearly two years without a TV deal. Hatton has lost a lot of money so far in his career as a promoter and he's going to be super careful about every penny from now on.

I think CEO of Hatton Promotions is a bit of a grand title, like calling a window cleaner a vision technician. HP isn't exactly Golden Boy and Poxon used to be a matchmaker for that Sheffield guy who promoted Clinton Woods, he's not exactly a business mastermind. It's Ricky's money and Murray's career and I'm sure they made the decision not to take the fight and left Poxon to fob Schaefer off and take the grief when the fight didn't get made.

He was the matchmaker for Dennis Hobson and is the "director of boxing" for Hatton. Maybe Schaefer was just giving the American press guys some idea of who the guy is. However, as Hatton employs him, Schaefer basically said Hatton doesn't know what the fuck he's doing regardless.
