Is it acceptable to go out to bars / clubs by yourself?

So tonights a saturday night. I'm 20 and have not too long ago became single. I've been mulling over all of yesterday and today if I should go out tonight, and indeed if I did which bar / club should I go to. However I've recently moved back to university but none of my friends are back yet so I would be going out by myself. Do you guys think its acceptable to go out by yourself? Im sat here now thinking I could be doing a load of better things with my life right now but at the same time Im not sure its normal to get drunk by yourself in your room go to a nightclub and just try and pull. Thoughts?

You have to be super charismatic to pull it off, I have tried 2-3 times and it never worked, there I am walking around the club by myself looking suspicious, every girl is going to be with at least one friend if not multiple so its going to be hard to split her up, like I said before it all depends on how charismatic you are.
