Floyds team said that canelos manager said that canelo would fight at 152 and floyd didn't even ask for catch weight. But when canelos management suggested it, floyd obviously wouldn't say no.

That statement doesn't make sense. To get Floyd to agree to the fight because there was speculation that Floyd wouldn't fight Canelo, Canelo offered a catchweight. When the negotiations for the fight started, Floyd first wanted the fight at 147! They agreed at 152 to accommodate Floyd. In the ideal world, Canelo would fight at 154, not 152. Thus, the catch weight favors Floyd. It is hypocritical of Floyd because of the grief he gave Pacquiao on the catch weight for the Cotto fight. Yet, here he is doing it. Of course, this is the second time Floyd has signed to fight at a catch weight. In my opinion, Floyd thought this fight merited a catch weight whereas with Cotto, he didn't think he needed it.

There is only one reason Floyd would ask for the CW and that is to gain an advantage. Alvarez has to drain off those extra ounces and the last ounces are the hardest to eke off. Alvarez fights like a man who burns weight and lacks energy in fights, it is only going to be worse and against the best fighter in the world. It makes a difference, fighters themselves are always admitting as much.
