Alot of people thought Floyd had had it tonight. They massively over rated Alvarez.
To be honest, i think Floyd could have schooled Cotto in much the same way as he schooled Canelo. He just fought the fight differently. He opened up more. He was more cautious against Canelo because of his size, and as a result, got hit much less and won widely. I think he has the capabilities to basically do that to anyone in the sport.

I don't think this "well fighter A did better against fight B than fighter C, so A > C" logic works, because if you want to do that then Emmanuel Augustus is a much better fighter than a ton of world champs because he gave Floyd a tougher fight than most.

Floyd was much sharper and more focused than he was in the Cotto and Guerrero fights, I saw this fight as a return to form for him.

And I have to laugh once again at people saying Canelo had no game plan, or wondering why he didn't just rush in. It shows you have a layman's knowledge of boxing or you just plain don't understand how crafty Floyd actually is.

I think somebody explained Oscar that Canelo was a hype job just before the fight and Oscar' eyes got open all of a sudden. Then Oscar made up this rehab story to avoid being mocked by Mayweather

Cotto pressed more, jabbed more, and showed more movement. It was obvious that his corner (Pedro Diaz) had prepared the right gameplan.... and Cotto followed it to the best of his ability. But Floyd is Floyd.... nothing more need be said. Having said that, Cotto bloodied his nose, and Floyd knew he'd been in a fight. Last night there was nothing of the sort. Floyd schooled Canelo to such an extent, it was comical to hear him after the fight giving his "public relations speech" about Canelo being a great champion, while very likely laughing inside at the great con job they had all just pulled off.

Even Guerrero, who was totally outclassed, turned in a more respectable showing against Floyd than Canelo did. That's where the bloated 40+ some undefeated record gets exposed for all to see.

All in all it was a boring, predictable fight. Well.... that's being too harsh on Floyd.
He did turn in his usual masterpiece of boxing.

I was almost surprised about Canelos lack of stamina. I thought he would be better prepared for this fight. Towards the last rounds it seemed every movement was an effort to him. I did think Canello was a bit overrated and I didn't think he would win but I did think he would do more damage to Floyd than we have seen in a while. I didn't think this one would be a blow out for Floyd. Still glad I got the fight but only for Garcia v Lucas.
