While I personally had it a draw I can't complain about the result, props to danny. Lucas will be back and let them have two or three fights and get a rematch on, they're both young enough. I read an interview where lucas and his camp don't even watch film of the fighter they're facing, might be wise to implement that in the future. Also I will have to rewatch in a more sober state at some point was pretty far gone at the time of the fight

One thing that suddenly occurred to me is that Matthysse, who usually has fairly decent/ reliable defence, got hit A LOT more than he is used to.

He just got hit a lot, period.

I was just thinking along the lines of ''Oh maybe if he didn't have the eye problem, he'd be more effective'' but of course, it's just as likely that both eyes could have gone, plus the nose!

He was just getting tagged repeatedly.

To use a Spicoli phrase, it really was just 'rise and repeat'.

Well, I think if you look up until round 7, I didn't really see that. He got tagged, but I thought he was also closing in on Garcia right around when his eye shut up. He had just made an adjustment.

Garcia gave Morales a rematch, how about one for Matthysse?

As much as I was saddened that Lucas didn't win, I give Garcia a lot of respect, he fought a very good fight, it was an exciting fight and well tip of the hat to Danny.

This is how I felt, lots of people didn't want to see Danny win but you have to give him credit also his chin is fantastic
