Pulling out of a fight now, a week before it's scheduled to happen, and for the second time in 6 months, could well be the straw that breaks the camel's back for the fans that buy tickets to the fights and sky who invest money in showing them. I honestly can't see any upside to faking this injury unless a deal is in place to fight Vitali. It's probably a bit reckless to pick up a sparring injury like this a week out when most people would be tapering their training down but I don't doubt it's legitimacy cos there really isn't any benefit to pulling out for Haye.
The benefit to Haye was not losing to Fury.

This forum alone id say over 80% think that Haye will win and win early so if he had lost he becomes a laughing stock and loses and viability he may have had as a future Klitschko opponent.
That last point you made just sank your own ship, why would one of the Klits put their time into a fight with an unreliable opponent? They wouldn't waste their time with a flake. Your theory won't hold enough air to stay above water, it just will not sail. Abandon the Dark side, come back to the Light. lol
