I said it was possible he used make up. Which it is.

Another thing that has been irritating me is everyone saying the rumours about Haye getting knocked out were spread by team Fury but im pretty sure none of them have even mentioned it.

If its a clash of heads its even more ridiculous and looks even more intentional like when Tyson charged in against Holyfield.

There is a lot of talk that Haye was doing shit in camp and was not ready and wanted extra time to get ready. Some people have pointed out that Haye looks heavier than normal, maybe he isn't as fit as he'd like to be and his sparring partners have been bashing him up and dropping him. Maybe his last sparring session was a desperate attempt to get to the point he feels he needs to be.

Furys camp has looked so much more professional compared to Hayes. Getting world class sparring, ex world champions etc, moving away. Hayes almost looks like a gesture in comparison.

This is a great post Brock , it makes perfect sense , yes Haye has made an ass of himself with yet another excuse , and the crying wolf analogy is just perfect.
However its at least a genuine injury not staged.

Forget it. This has spawned a life of its own. In an obvious attempt by "Haye-fandom world" to divert attention from the real issue, which is how much of a douchebag Haye is...... for many reasons prior to...... they have desperately jumped on this bogus issue. Hell..... even making polls out of it. Damn good strategy, if you ask me.

My advice? Go with it.

Don't know whether you watched the movie Clear and Present Danger. But there's a great scene where Jack Ryan is giving the President advice on handling the press. If they asked whether a murdered man tied to drug traffic was a friend of the President, he should answer "No, we were good friends." the whole point of a rumour is that you don't know the source...
IF the Fury camp did start the rumour, they wouldn't openly say 'we heard haye was knocked out in sparring'. Who in their right mind would believe a boxer's opponent just pulling something out of their arse?

If I was David Haye, I'd admit to using make-up to fake the cut. That would make me a coward and a sneak, but at least I would a appear to be a coward and a sneak with some brains.
The alternative would be that I was sparring without head-gear (guessing, as it is pretty hard for two guys to clash heads like that with head gear on) in my last session before a major fight. That would make me, and the people around me, look like a truck load of stupid mothers.
