Im in full agreement with you. To many threads regarding Mexican and Puerto Rican fighters are getting ruined by posters insulting one another. I noticed that happens a lot when the thread topic changes. As you said the thread was off to a good start. That started changing after the 8th post when Chavez Jr (who has nothing to do with the subject being discussed) was brought up and attacked. The thread went off course after that. And it's usually that reason why threads start to disinergate. Im a white boy from San Diego. I take no side. Thats just my opinion after several years of reading this forum.

I mentioned Chavez Jr, not because he's Mexican, but because he's the son of a former world champion just the same as Vazquez Jr, difference between the two, Vazquez Jr made a name for himself by taking on tough competition from the get go while the other was spoon fed weak opposition and lived off the name of his father, and only mentioned this after Finito made Vazquez out to be a "fringe contender" and trying to make Chavez sound like the second coming of his father

Vazquez wouldn't have a chance against Rigo, but the guy has overachieved given with what he started with, no amateur experience and started boxing in his 20's, going directly into a pro career, he's picked up a world title, and being competitive against good opposition

The world title he picked up was a vacant one he got by beating a 19 year old kid who had moved up 2 weight classes. If that was Chavez or Alvarez you would of discredit and ridiculed the victory non-stopped. They would of got no credit for it. If you scored that a MD than you fucking score. And Sonsona didn't move up 1 weight class. He moved up 2. And some how he was worthy of a title fight. But the funny part isn't Sonsona "earning" his shot. It's not even the fight itself. Vazquez-Sonsona only happened cuz Juanma Lopez gave up the title to move up. And he moved up cuz Wilfredo Vazquez refused to fight him. Like a pussy straight out ducked him. Everything that happened leading up to the fight I payed very close attention to and Sonsona was half assing it in training. He was already big headed at the time and did nothing but fuck hookers and drink beers in the philpines. He is known for his notorious partying and he jumped up two divisions by eating his ass off and drinking...not by training properly..

Since that loss to vazquez, he has only fought three times which proves my point.
