Default Edwin Valero in the current 140.. prolly would have put Lucas to sleep

He was a monster . Ive seen him up close many times while training in LA and he was a beast kind of like what GGG is today. Many people know him as a brawler but he actually had great technical skills. He just chose to slug.

Guys like garcia wouldnt even have got near a title if valero was fighting in the division.. lucas is just a one trick pony and valero would have kicked his ass all the way back to argentina.

How many of you liked the venom?

He was certainly a monster, it's to bad he didn't have the balls to just kill himself before his wife. As far as him being a capable technical boxer, he never showed that in the ring and sparring is just that. Lucas or Garcia would have probably spanked him imo, the guy is an overrated mental case who couldn't get licensed by a reasonable commission for good reason.

He was an unintelligent swinger, he had no defence and he never had a fight with anyone of note.

Hugely overrated boxer with a decent punch and blown up record.

Marquez would have schooled him at 135, and both Garcia and Matthysse hit harder blow by blow than Marquez, Valero showed he didn't have the best beard and even against the only REAL opponent he faced (Demarco) he had to break him down to get him out of there, both Lucas and Danny would have gotten the bitch out of there within 6

I think he was starting to develop a little bit before he offed himself but I have to agree. Still when you have that kind of power one shot is a game changer. Tyrone Brunson looked real impressive to along with Lamar Clark.

I never saw anything overly technical about him and he wasn't hard to miss. Btw I kinda hope he's still burning down there.

By the time of his death Valero was still one-dimensional fighter, Lucas is also one-dimensional, but with worse power and stamina, worse quality in punches. This is why I favor Valero for 6th round KO or TKO

How can you come to the conclusion that Matthysse has worse stamina when he's arguably gotten stronger in the late rounds of big fights while Valero has seen a 10th a grand total of 1 time and never a final bell?! Valero looks like a cave man chucking boulders compared to a Matthysse delivery.

I watched a lot on Valero. This guy was sparring 15 rounds against both brother Santa Cruz, one after another, and beat the crap out of both of them. HE was able to seriously hurt people in sparring, almost knocking them out. He was throwing 900 punches at bag in 3 mins working 10-15 rounds like that and making a hole in the bag like Big George Forman. Last, but not least, Valero punches just sound different. Lucas was throwing this type of snappy sharp punches against Garcia for 2-3 rounds, then he stopped. Lucas is a "pussy" in comparison to Valero, Valero is a legend, Lucas will be forgotten in couple years like any other fighter who got couple title shots but never won it. PERIOD.

Valero was demon possessed of top of that. That explains his supernatural power and how things ended for him. There are only three forces in the world: the Holy Spirit, demons stuff and men's work. Lucas is apparently not backed up by anything except his flesh (this is why he lost to Judah and Garcia). I never bet on works of the flesh

A "legend" in the gym and death rays shooting from his eyeballs by the sound of it eh Brilliant! The only pussy as you put it in the conversation is the one who beat and murdered his wife and then offed himself in a jail cell.

You never got back to me over thee dispute concerning Donny Lalonde verses Ray Leonard. Fair enough. You were probably a seed in Daddy's sperm sack at the time and have never taken the time to research the topic or even watch the fight. In the above you almost sound like Jim Jones. I hate kool-aid and you live under a bridge.
