Meh, I don't actually give a shit where a fighter is from. I liked Molitor though because he seemed to be the real deal and I thought it would be good for boxing in Canada to have a successful fighter outside of Quebec just in terms of the popularity of the sport - all of his fights were being carried on TSN and he was really generating some interest domestically. Then, he fought his first decent opponent and got ruined.
I actually can't think of another Canadian fighter I like - Pascal has grown on me, but the rest can all fuck off. Watching Froch, probably my favourite fighter, smash Bute against all expectations (mine included) was brilliant. But you're right, none of those other guys are actually Canadian.
Yea I know, just saying lol. Come to think Donny Lalonde might be the last Canadian who came anywhere close to elite for a length of time![]()
Or I guess Kirk Johnson if you want to call him top tier, believe he was born in Canada.
