I found it an odd fight. Cleverly never had to take it but had the cajones to do so yet it almost looked like he accepted the outcome the first time he ate a good shot. Maybe he got into boxing for the wrong reasons to begin with. Perhaps Joe Cal was his boyhood hero and he really never wanted to box. Early successes made him carry on and maybe the cash but deep down inside he'd rather be doing something else.

Not to take away anything from Kovalev cause if you ask me he's the real deal and had much better footwork then I ever imagined along with some cute feints but again Clev fought him like he wanted to show the fans that he could take his shots. Now he feels bad and wants a rematch again for the fans perhaps. Pleasing the fans should not be the fundamental reason for being a fighter.

He's got skills but fights stupid. If he sincerely wants to give it a serious second go then imo he needs to change up his corner and learn to deal with words like "no" and "you fuck up" used in the same sentence.
