*U don't know what ur talking about, ..Rodriquez is a dangerous fighter, with skill... he's more of a gatekeeper than Journeyman, but make no bones about it, Rodriquez CAN fight. For Cotto to come in and beat a B fighter in Rodriquez is a serious statement. Rodriquez has been in withsome some serious comp as of late and had dedicated himself . ... it's a nice job by Cotto. i'd like to see Cotto do this again before I put him in with the best fighters, but early consensus is..HE'S BACK.

p.s U can say whatever, under Diaz lately, Cotto looked like a shot fighter...

Cotto is one of my favorite fighters, but I'm pragmatic about his ability to perform at the very elite levels anymore. Miguel is now 32 years old, he's been in some wars, he's not going to get any faster or take a punch any better than he used to. Yes he's still good enough to compete at the top of 154, but P4P....those days are gone.

    Here's the cold hard truth.

Delvin Rodriguez is 33, 5(2 KO's)-5-2 in his last 12 fights, and his style is not one that mirrors: Floyd, Canelo, or Martinez.

If Cotto fights Floyd he might do ok, he might get whupped worse, because Floyd knows what to expect even more so now. Canelo is a tricky proposition as is Martinez. Sergio is older, but he's bigger, he's a solid boxer and he's got power that can catch you off guard. We'll have to see how Canelo reacts to the defeat at the hands of Mayweather...maybe he comes back with something to prove, maybe he comes back broken. Whatever the case Miguel is not the favorite in a matchup vs any of the 3 and now with Roach a rematch vs Pac is out of the question, which IMO would have been the BEST option for him had he stayed with Diaz.

This is by no means a rebirth. He did what he was supposed to do against a level b journeymen. I hope he stays at 154 because he is not a middleweight and would probably get knocked out against Sergio which is the fight Arum is trying to make. If he wants 1 last payday then go ahead and fight Canelo or Martinez. If he wants to stay in the sport awhile longer then fight Carlos Molina for that other belt.

That's a fair analysis. Martinez to me is out of the question simply because they come from both ends of the size spectrum. Martinez outgrew lightmiddle a long time ago... and there's little chance he'd venture down too 154. Cotto, on the other hand, is small for 154.... let alone 160.

Cotto did his best against Floyd (better than any of Floyd's recent opponents, I might add)..... but he's simply not good enough to beat Floyd. I thought Diaz had the perfect gameplan and put Cotto through the perfect training regimen for Floyd.... but it wasn't meant to be.

Canelo is the most logical choice of the three.... but the fight would have to happen soon. Cotto is on the other side of his physical peak, while Canelo is still reaching his. Time is not on Cotto's side for sure.

    Let's see what happens.
