I think their fight(Benn-Barkley) might suggest he was a bit more dangerous for a while. I'd pick Calzaghe but he could've gotten caught and put away as well.

you cannot compare Barkley with Calzaghe skillwise, Barkley was just a slow slugger with power, but not ring thinking.

You cannot read. I was saying Benn had a chance against Calzaghe and that he was better than Barkley.

The only fighter in recent history that could have beaten Joe Calzaghe at Middle or Super Middle was Roy Jones in Jones's prime.

Roy Jones before he made Light Heavyweight was the man and always will be the man. No one compares aside form Ray Robinson, who I feel Roy would school if they ever fought in their primes.

To me at Middleweight to Super Middleweight:
    1. Roy Jones
    2. Ray Robinson
    3. Marvin Hagler
    4. Carlos Monzon
    5. Joe Calzaghe

I think Benn improved no end in the early 90s, and I am sure he would of given Calzaghe plenty to think about, but in the end I believe Joe would have edged it over 12 rounds.

Roy was unorthodox n unbelievably talented, but prime SRR has too many dimensions for Roy. Hagler, BHOP, Leonard most likely beat him also. I do agree that Roy beats Joe prime vs prime, most likely by knockout.

Why shouldn't Hop be mentioned alongside Monzon, Hagler...etc.?!? At this point in his career I can't see how anyone can still try n discredit his ability n accomplishments.

No power and no speed, dirty, not otherworldly ring tricks. Solid, but not special

Also, while Benn was a one dimensional puncher early in his career, he morphed into a complete fighter during his reign at 168. Had he not developed his defense n boxing ability he wouldn't have lasted two rounds with G-Man in their fight.

Jones may have won once against SRR, but there is no way SSR could not have adjusted and defeated him in ANY amount rematches afterwards

To be fair SRR was a welterweight, probably the best ever so to be considered a middleweight great just shows you how great he was.

At this level of competition weight does not mean much, I have no doubt SSR would beat Roy Jones in 15 rounds in any weight, especially if you let Jones eat like SSR ate in 40-60's without any modern day steroids. There is simply no discussion here. On top of that, I think even SRL would beat Roy, because SRL was just slicker and mentally tougher, he would fool him

Calzaghe would have schooled him IMO.
