Hopefully that picture worked.
So lets ask ourselves...why was the fight stopped again?

The point is that you are unable to admit that it was a close fight. Why?
I'm not saying the wrong guy won, but you can't even admit that the fight was close, despite the cuts.
A couple of pics from a fight do not always tell the whole story.
Well I am not trying to argue that Vitali should have won the fight. But I will maintain that those cuts WERE CERTAINLY in the realm of unfortunate!
A couple of things don't quite add up. I followed the entire saga. Why did Lennox retire and as Larry Merchant put it "sailed off into the sunset" and not rematch Vitali when urged by everybody involved? Because he knew no matter how well prepaered he would be Vitali would be more so and he would not be lucky enough for cuts to emerge again.
Lewis won fairly. I know what his face looked like and thumb, elbow, head aside it was still legit.
But without luck, this was Vitali's fight. Lewis could barely stand up after 6.
Lets talk about the amount of punishment lewis took in the fight.
Vitali was SEVEN years younger than lewis but was very unfortunate to not be able to take the punches as well as lewis did.
Luck does not exist in fighting or in life.
Both warriors fought a great fight with vitali looking the fitter of the two but the fight had to be stopped.
Do you believe that Vitali has a "thin skin"? I find it difficult to buy the notion that were they to rematch, Vitali would be opened up again.
I'm not saying Vitali would beat Lewis, I think it would've been a very violent and very even fight.
I guess the main points we're not agreeing on is that I feel it was not the straight out force of Lewis's punches that opened Vitali up I feel it was the sharp edge of his gloves that tore his flesh from all the thumbs and side fists involved in their flurries and I believe there was an accidental elbow and head clash. I am not alone in this view as you would know.
Again I'm not claiming it's illegitimate, I even hold Lennox Lewis higher than Vitali in my rankings anyway. I just think Lewis was damn lucky.
The thing is Lewis did not fight his usual lacadasical style when he underestimated his opponent like the 1st Rahman fight, he fought furiously, I don't think he underestimated Vitali as much as people like to say. This was a pretty good version of Lewis that Vitali fought really.
Lewis underestimated vitali AND vitali was alot better than everyone fought.
You put vitali in any era and he is a major problem for anyone.
Both men kept standing in that fight and they both could have been knocked out at any stage.
I dont think anything i say will change your views or vice versa. All i can say is that vitali is still as tough as nails and that was his greatest fight which unfortunately ended up being stopped.
The fact everyone keeps talking about it shows how close the fight was and the start of a new era.
I will let it lie then on that note.
And for sakes sake... TKO6!

This is possibly the most idiotic post I have ever read. Vitali was winning the fight against one of the best HWs ever, I think most people have him in their top 15, at 2 weeks notice. He was winning the fight and was just unlucky to get such a bad cut. And yes luck is the word for it. Jesus its like you didnt watch the fight.
The hate for the Klits is ridiculous particualry Vitali who is a warrior and your post is so disrespectful, not just to Vitali but to Lewis too.
Now now, there's no need for such vitriol. Vitali probably sits down in chairs and wears regular deodorant, of course he won't cater to a renaissance man![]()
Let's say that Lennox managed to open Vitali up forcing eventual stoppage in favour of Lewis. And let's also say that Vitali gave Lewis "A thorough hiding and a boxing lesson!"![]()
