I think either is a possibility, only Rodriguez knows whether he planned this or not. It's definitely possible that he decided not cutting weight would give him a much better chance to win, if he is confident of doing so then the fine certainly wouldn't outweigh what he would gain. I don't buy at all he 'couldn't' make the weight. There is will, and there is won't. Won't is winning with ALOT of HBO guys lately. Rodriquez had an obligation to meet a contract and chanced not just a payday but the network that gave him the oppurtunity and fans.

His fight with Escalara over a year ago on hbo...he fattened up 21 lbs in 24 hrs time. He came in heavy with Don George...and his last fight was held at catchweight, flirting with lt heavy. The kid knew what direction his body was going and just how hard he'd work to manage it way before lastnight. He saw the payday, he calcualted it giving the showcase, and now he's having it both ways. There was a patteren. I hope Ward pounds him like a railroad spike if I'm honest. He may have threw the vada bs as a swerve in the first place.
