Groves is very good. He dismissed the idea that his win over DeGale was a fluke. He out-boxed the number two super middleweight in the world. He also put him on the canvas hard and buzzed him a number of times in the fight.

Froch looked vulnerable for a lot of the fight. Through round 6 or so, I actually thought Groves might stop him. He also was dirtier than I had seen him in the past. Froch lived up to his reputation as a gritty fighter with heart for days. He might have come on to stop (correctly) Groves if the fight had continued in much the same way he stopped Taylor. Froch is a tried and true champion.

The stoppage was clearly premature. This was the first time Groves had been buzzed by Froch the whole time whereas Froch had been buzzed multiple times throughout the night and even down once. It looked like the referee was scrambling for a chance to stop the fight in Froch's favor. Not Froch's fault, but that's how it looked.

I had Froch winning one or two rounds before the stoppage and Groves had a 10-8 first round.
