no, not top 5 don't be ridiculous...top 15 perhaps
either you are highly underrating mesi or highly overrating the HWs today. as i stated before, i thought mesi was a bum and still kind of do, but even during his short reign as a HW he beat a few alright opponents. opponents that were better than most HWs right now. saying he would only be top 15 today is selling him way short. he wrecked williamson who actually wasnt that bad. he should have beaten wlad but wlad was given a gift decision. he beat jirov and barret who were both alright. again, im not saying that mesi was good but those 3 guys are probably just as good if not better than most people in the top 10 right now.
Look at Joe's style and his opponents. The more technical boxers would school him. I like Joe but he was limited.

Who is the top 5? Wlad, Vitali...Joe ain't better than them. Haye, Joe couldn't handle the speed. Povetkin, more fair but Alex is too tough and too technical. Jennings, meh decent fight. Stiverne, Joe could win IF he caught him flush. Arreola, doubt Joe could beat him. Adamek...tough fight. Wilder, maybe. Pulev, doubtful. Chagaev, no way.
