If he hadnt suffered the brain bleed and continued fighting, where do u think hed be right now..
Lets say he fought wlad around 05-06, how does he perform... and what about against brewster around the same time..
Thoughts on mesi?

I doubt it was a case of bad luck that he got the brain bleed or whatever. He was bound to get hit like he did the way he fought, and was probably lucky that he wasn't hurt worse if he'd made it further. Lewis was still around, both Klitschkos coming up, he'd hit his peak imo. Reminds me a little bit of Tommy Morrison with less power to be honest, decent textbook skills and a big left hook but vulnerable and pretty one paced. He's done a good job on commentary the few fights I've seen him do ringside, pretty well spoken for a fighter, have wondered why he didn't get behind the mic more.
Most Babies have business being in the ring.
Mesi was a nice dude. But he didn't just take damage like it was a fluke. He was being beat to the punch, hurt and slugging with guys lower in weight and willfully engaged. What you saw was what you got, and Wlad would have lit him up like a Christmas tree in Times square. Save all that 'rabbit punch landed' stuff.
i remember when mesi was coming up in the ranks and thinking how bad he was. then i look back at his opposition and how he fared and realized that he is an easy top 5 HW today.
Baby Joe was a solid contender I think his best shot for a title during his time would have been the WBA title held by Ruiz then Chagaev then Valuev.
Joe's career would have ended shortly after the Jirov fight regardless of the health issues just due to his style. He was a fun fighter to watch, he had a very solid left hook, a good quick right hand but no real jab to speak of and he was always a little softish in physique. He was a slugger who was best going forward, he was a throwback kind of guy, limited on defense and attack but he could cope.
Wlad pre-Sanders & Brewster would batter poor Joe into submission Wlad post-Sanders & Brewster would have had to survive the early rounds and he'd get a late stoppage as Joe always slowed during fights.
Joe vs Brewster would have been BRUTAL! I'm thinking a Lyle-Foreman kind of brawl. I'd figure Brewster would nick it because of his chin.
Other fights I always wanted Mesi to have
John Ruiz
Andrew Golota
Dominick Guinn
Michael Moorer
Kirk Johnson
James Toney
Fres Oquendo
Hasim Rahman
Oleg Maskaev
Jameel McCline
Calvin Brock
Ray Austin
I think Baby Joe had a very solid career but I'm glad he left boxing in a healthier manner than he almost did.
Mesi vs Audley Harrison would have been good at a certain time
Joe didn't pay much attention to defense and he always tired late
I liked Joe, one because he was Italian and two because he always was in good fights.
