Let me address the thread title.
If anything, it should be Hatton first, THEN Oscar.... if you go by size. However, seeing as to how Oscar is saying this is his last fight, I can see where the roach wants to throw his fighter in the ring with him right away. It'll mean $$$$$ for Pacquaio, which of course translates into $$$ for the roach. But is it in Manny's best interests? Hell no.
Aside from that, saying that "after DLH we'll take Hatton or PBF" sounds like the maniacal rantings of a money-hungry idiot, which is precisely the way I'm starting to view the roach.
Most of those who give PAC no chance against Hoya said that PAC's punches will have no effect on the bigger Hoya. Let's say if those same punches that PAC landed on Diaz' head lands on Hoya's head, it will have no effect? Of course PAC will have a very difficult task of landing something clean on Hoya's head, let's just assume that he can land some and analyze if it will have no effect at all.

Why are people giving Manny Pacquiao no chance ? i don't think people realize is that when Manny Pacquiao was fighting at the lower weight classes he was young at that wasn't nowhere near his natural weight.......
Manny Pacquiao is round about 145 pounds right ? and i seem to remember Steve Forbes who had been at Super Featherweight/Lightweight for majority of his career and was obviously not a natural Welterweight and had no punching power......
Giving Oscar De La Hoya a good argument and even busted up his face somewhat and remember no one gave Steve Forbes a hope in hell of making it 12 rounds with Oscar De La Hoya let alone giving him a good argument......
So i fail to see why Manny Pacquiao has no chance in this fight ?
come on guys just from watching the diaz fight that should let you know as pac man goes up in weight his punching power is not as effective diaz took pac man's best shoots for i think 9 rounds. so to think he's going to knock oscar or be major effective is crazy when, oscar has only been droped once by a bigger man also oscars deffence is on point. also y do pac man fans talk about him like he's never been beat.
This is the stupid way of boxing right now..... It's either prime fighters avoiding each other month after month, year after year because the money isn't there, or it's big power/money hungry fights being thrown together, with little regard for whether fans even want the fight...
Manny's got fans all over the world.. And even though most of them are giving him a shot (hell, they'd give him a shot against a Tyson comeback), VERY few of them really want this fight. Or see it as the best step for Manny..... The only sense of it is to throw him in for the money and the fame of going against a much bigger opponent who happens to be an all time great...
In that respect, it is a freak show... There are much better ways I feel of managing Manny's career where he can still go down as one of the best...
Will there big gamble pay offPart of me hopes not, to show the power hungry fools behind this out of control speeding race car, that some sense is needed, even in this crazy high tech world of today where it seems like anything is possible,,,, as long as there is enough money involved....
People wanna make there money let them its their ass on the line. But, they should at least say I'm fighting him to make the most moeny available. In the case of oscar well thats clearly obvious, fighting the much smaller man who happens to be a very popular fighter. But for PAc he and Roach are saying its not just about the money that oscars a legend he wants to go down in history as the greatest asian/boxer of all time...you wanna go down in historyThen fight Cotto or Margarito that way you can go down in history as the dumb flip who thought he walked on water and died in the ring from a jab from Margo or a hook to the body from Cotto.
Just be honest is all im saying...oh and my girlfriend's a Pinay, just a joke abou the flip comment, I love Manny I will miss him when he dies.
The key is Self-discipline.
You don't have to blame it to Roach Parkinsons disease if something bad will happen to PAC in the Oscar fight. You have to realize that boxers risked their lives inside the ring in every fight. There's always that risk in each single fight.
PAC is in his prime and he knows what he can take or not. He's also aware that his taking a bigger risk in the Oscar fight.
So please don't blame it on Roach's disease which actually he got also from boxing...
This is an interesting thread to bump up about how everyone thought PAC Man would lose to Golden Boy.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Hah hah, GREAT BUMP!!
Look at all the "experts" here!
I'll let you all know that I did in fact make the right call at a different forum, and I put up with a $#!tstorm of naysayers over at $#!tdog who all later had to eat crow and admit I was right. I think I even called the rd that time.
For sure. I was one of the people who thought Pac never had a chance.
It turned out later Roach had some inside info on DLH not being able to pull the trigger anymore. I think the weight cut really killed him, too. Fighters just don't cut down to their prime weights when they are at the end of their careers. It's too much.
