Broner is a good to great fighter depending the weight he fights at, but I'm not giving him a pat on the back for getting off the canvas and fighting back.
Hell, that's what we would expect any fighter worth a damn to do. I've fightbeen watching Mexican fighters, without a chance in hell of ever breaking into the top ten, doing that since the middle 50s.
You want everyone to forgive and forget, feel sorry for the disrespectful prick, and give him a second chance just for getting off the canvas and continuing to fight.
Fuck that noise! When Broner comes back and if he starts respecting other fighters, the fans and boxing then I'll start showing him some respect.

Yeah but the average fighter isn't going to take 12 rounds of Maidana bombs, flush shots to the head and body, and still be fighting in the last seconds of the fight.

Mexican warriors like Soto Karass and JOsesito Lopez couldn't stand up to it.

Broner has not just mental toughness to withstand those shots, but also a physical durability that goes beyond what the average fighter has.

You might believe he has 'special' qualities that lift him above the average fighter, but he looked ordinary against Maidana.

I wasn't making a comment on his overall performance, which I feel was pretty shameful given all the shit he talked.

But the ability to absorb punishment and keep going goes beyond what a normal fighter has. Not saying he's the toughest guy ever, not saying he's the second coming of Jake Lamotta, just saying the average fighter wouldn't have been there in the 12th round after absorbing so many shots from Maidana. Anyone who doesn't agree doesn't know shit about boxing.

What I'm saying is that I've been watching fighters for years and years, who never had any thoughts of being a champion, do exactly what Broner did against Maidana. Then they'd come back a month later and do it again! Broner stayed in there trying to win but it didn't look like anything out of the ordinary to
me.

I think its getting lost in the platform and high visibility that was afforded Broner that this happens every single weekend to far lesser known pluggers who display just as much durability and 'balls', all on varying levels. Guys take beatings...some carry on, some fold. Most you never hear of or remember them only for that. Broner doesn't get an 'S' on his chest or a special place above them.
