I thought and still think that Donaire would spark Mares. I was surprised he lost to Gonzalez, but I'm leaning towards a repeat result rather than revenge.

I'll be cheering for Mares but I'm not sure what he can change. He wont be doing pot shots and staying away by using the ring. Unless he hurts Gonzalez I see very much the same ending.

I agree. When you are outgunned by someone who loves to bang, it's hard to stay away, especially in a rematch. Like you suggested, Mares needs to get there first. Hope he can do it.
