Broner will never punch hard enough at 147

Its his delivery and not a case of 'learning from mistakes' but them being a part of his approach all this time and getting away with them. You fix those and make adjustments in your early learning fights in an ideal scenario...a PDL fight, the Escobedo fiasco and what it nearly and should have cost him...Maligianni living with him inside and putting a light on his holes...instead he changed nothing and said he meant to get hit cause it didn't hurt or some dumb shate...now he is already on the premier stage and they still exist at a massive price. No way can I see him getting a "do over" in weight class or a step back in level of opposition with high visibility. He will and must now learn on the job and play catch up..cram session...or he'll be a trivia question very shortly. We've seen this play out before.

Good post. Its a problem with his head most definitely and a real false sense of security. Hell as a fan I was blinded by his style. He's another one of these guys who's fine it seems when things are going his way or the punches dont sting. As far as Brocks thread title goes he punches hard enough.

There is no doubt in my mind that Broner and his team knew, before they left that ring in the Alamo Dome, that they had some adjustments to make.
What they do and how soon they get back in the ring will be interesting to watch.

His big problem is that he just doesn't throw punches.

Guys who use that defense shell (Toney, Floyd, Bhop, Locche, ect) used it as a way to counter and set up offense. Maidana found out pretty quick that he could fire away without consequence because Broner wasn't looking to counter, so he did. He came in and smashed Broner to the body and head, and Broner let him do it like an idiot and gave away round after round.

I can't figure Broner out. He's supposed to be "virtuoso", a guy with incredible speed and skill who can dominate his opponent. But in the last several fights, his gameplan seems to be to give away rounds until he makes it that he may need a KO to win.

I've never seen real virtuosos like Floyd, Roy Jones, Ray Leonard, ect do that. Why does he think that's a smart way to fight? It's unreal.

I've never seen Toney or Floyd sit there and let a guy smash them in the belly. If a guy tried to do that to them he'd end up eating leather to the point where he would be scared to do it again.

Broner's punches lacked any pop to them. He couldnt get out of the way of shots., too.
I never seen a guy get hit repeatedly all night long with that wild chopping right that Maidana threw. Broner is trying so hard to copy Mayweather, it is so obvious. Nut he aint no Mayweather and he never will be. He is a charlatain. No future. The cat got out of the bag. The beating he took , he'll never be the same. (neither will his ego)
