Dont get confused with John Ruiz being a good heavyweight. Why dyou think Roy chose that fight?

In fact, Ruiz has been the go to heavyweight for little men to get a win at heavy.

Toney beat him without having to sit on the ropes and wait for the ref to pull Ruiz off. Ruiz couldnt get close enough to Toney without getting clouted with the overhand right

Prime Ruiz is better than fury.. I just think roy is too fast and fleetfooted for a clumsy, uncordinated fury...

Bingo. Ruiz was garbage to watch but effective and he ran a lot of really good HW's close or beat them. Golota, 2001 Holyfield, Kirk Johnson or Rahman at that point were good fighters. Fury wouldn't have seen the final bell against any of them imo.

I saw Tyson Fury's list on Twitter and adding old RJJ is ridiculous.

The other three fights are fine. Lucas Browne would be an entertaining brawl, while Chisora 2 is a good fight. Wilder is just treading water and seems incapable of fighting another contender.

Agreed, all 3 of those are good fights that would be nice to see happen. I think Tyson Fury probably added Jones just for a laugh and to get a reaction.

We are yet to find that out. Fury is yet to be awarded a title shot, even though hes fought and won 2 title eliminators.

At this stage in Ruiz career he had been sparked by someone who was never good enough to win a world title. He had many gift, rotten decisions. The Holyfield fights, the Golota fight. Got totally out boxed by Toney and Jones. If he couldnt hold you he was fucked.

You must admit that Ruiz fought bravely against Haye in his last outing. He didn't try to hold or run or pull any crap. He came to fight and went out on his shield. Gave me a new respect for Ruiz.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"

thats why he said a prime ruiz, not a ruiz at the same point in his career as fury. a prime ruiz would have KO'd fury. not to say that fury couldnt be better, but at the moment he isnt.

As Roy Sr told Roy Jr way back when, he'd be risking his life if he foguht Buster Douglas or Evander Holyfield.
although fury got hurt pretty bad against cunningham who isnt at all a puncher and is small. i guarantee that jones hit harder than cunningham so yes, i believe that jones could hurt fury and even KO him. im not saying he would or wouldnt, im just saying that he definitely could.

Like iv said. If Ali can get that chin past the likes of Frazier, Foreman and Shavers when a 180lb Henry Cooper (when Clay himself weighed over 200lb) can drop him so hard his corner need to buy time, I think Fury who got dropped by a 6,3" ripped solid 210lb fighter with quick, sharp hands has a chamce to get his chin past the slow oafs that call themselves heavyweights.

Could Jones have stopped Marco Huck?

This is why Ross is so retarded. He's comparing a clearly weak chinned Fury (who has been hurt pretty much with every punch landed on him) to the granite chin o Ali. He is a fucking retard who is so biased to fighters he likes.

And yes Jones probably stops Huck. Particularly a Huck at the time he fought Cunningham. Huck is getting better but as a boxer his skills are so limited. I love watching him and he as been in battles but Jones was too slick and would hurt Huck with counters and combos

Before Ali fought Liston he was dropped hard by 180lb british journeyman Henry Cooper who had a less than 50% KO ratio and 195lb Sonny Banks.

Fury has been dropped by an ripped 210lb former world champ fighter and another weighing 232lb both 6,3" not light heavyweight journeymen.

Im not comparing Fury to Ali you fucking morons! Like you said, Ali had a granite chin but he was thought to be very vulnerable as he was getting hurt and dropped and awarded gift decisions against very small heavyweights that werent even punchers.

To be fair, what has Tyson Fury done that would rank him higher than John Ruiz?

John Ruiz certainly was at least a GOOD heavyweight. His style was ugly, but it was largely effective. And he could punch.

To be fair, Fury has only been a pro 5 years. When Ruiz had been a pro 5 years he had 3 losses 1 by KO

His first world title shot came after 8 years as a pro and he lost that!

So comparably Fury is miles ahead of Ruiz at this point in their careers
