My recollection of their second fight was that it wasn't close and that BJ got pretty beat up. I don't see BJ being able to take Edgar down or outstrike him at 145. I always thought BJ's striking worked well b/c people were afraid to be taken down and submitted by him but over the last part of his career he went away from going for subs. Frankie's wrestling ought to keep this fight standing and his jab ought to bust BJ up again.

Penn won the first fight imo, easily at that. Edgar ran but to his credit he was touching Penn but no where near enough to win or with enough significance to win the fight.

Even if it wasnt a championship fight Penn should have won but to take his belt away and give it to someone who really didnt take it from him is one of the worste things Ive seen in MMA in the past 5-6 years at least.

No champion has been robbed like that in which I can even remember off the top of my head.

Second fight Edgar won. Penn looked like shit. But Penn definately didnt get beat up. It was more like he just watched Edgar jump around all fight and let him do whatever he wanted. And even then Penn didnt get roughed up at all.

Even tho Penn won the first fight (imo), Edgar is just a bad match up for Penn. Edgar is tough as nails so Penn isnt going to KO him with counter pot shots. Nor can Penn wrestle effectively against him.

Its Penn's first fight at 145 so its hard to say how he will do. Hopefully its a 3 round fight as that will benifit Penn.

Penn needs to take him out. If it goes the distance I dont see him winning, especially if its 5 rounds.

On a real quick side note, if Edgar did enough to beat Penn in the first fight then he did enough to beat Aldo in their fight. Edgar not only touched Aldo but he also controlled him in the clinch and had some take downs.

All this said Im going with Edgar on this one but you never know will happen if Penn comes out fired up.
