if country A has a 40% tuberculosis rate, and your country B has 0%, and you are the president --- shouldnt you have some concernfor your country and block or atleast screen carefully those country A people who want to come over? or is that a sweeping generalization?

I know facts don't seem a very important part of this thread but here is an interesting article regarding a study -

Immigration has had a net GROWTH effect on our economy since 2000. GROWTH.
And unless you are completely thick you understand that means that immigration makes the country WEALTHIER than it would otherwise be. I'm sure you all understand that.
So the whole 'country is poor, don't need more people' argument is not valid.
Not that I expect anyone to change their views. After all they are based on soundbites, headlines and gut instincts rather than evidence and fact.
But every time you make that argument you are just being willfully ignorant.
