I was making the point that sometimes the less skilled brawler , beats the much better boxer with power and work rate.

Bullshit. Vernon ran and fought scared the whole second fight, Mayorga made the fight and deserved the victory.

Seeking an immediate rematch after a definitive loss rarely works out for boxers, Mosley tried it against Forrest then against Winky, lost those 4. Vernon lost twice to Mayorga. As Lyle mentioned, David Price tried it against Tony Thompson.
