I think it's pretty amazing how quickly boxing fans can turn for and against a fighter.
After the JMM loss, the overall consensus was that Pac was passed it and should retire. Interest was largely given up on a Pac/Mayweather fight. Instead of opinions being divided on who would win the hypothetical Pac/PBF showdown, all of a sudden it went almost unanimously in Floyd's favor. The logic was that if JMM could give Pac so much problems with his speed and counter punching abilities, what chance would Pac have against a guy like PBF, who had much more speed and counter punching ability than JMM. I know there were exceptions and people that still stuck with Pac, but I think this was the general consensus.
Now that's all changed. And what changed it? A win over Brandon Rios, who was a tailor-made, hand picked patsy who was coming off a loss and had been fighting at 135 only a year ago. So with that win, Pac shot right back up to the status he had in 2010, and for the life of me I can't figure out why. Are boxing fans that easily swindled?
