For sure. People like to have this romaticized view of "the good old days" where men were men and everyone fought everyone for the love of boxing. BULL SHIT! It's always been about risk and reward.

Ray Robinson didn't fight those guys on Murderer's Row. I don't believe for a second Ray was afraid of any man in the ring, but why would he fight those guys, which would equal a tougher fight for less money, when he could have an easier fight for more money against a well known/mob backed guy? This has been going on since boxing existed, and we're going to say Floyd is garbage because the Pacquiao fight didn't happen? Come on.
I'm one of those people a fair bit of time and to be honest I dont think the "risk and reward" angle is the same at all today and for a litany of reasons. In many past eras people took risk in order to reap the reward. Now in large measure people either get reward for little risk or claim the reward to little to take the risk. But that's another thread.

Its the "ducking" thing that is getting to me when Floyd is talked about. Its thrown around like he's some kind of chronic and practices it as a matter of course and yet its not even clear that he has done it even once. Its an accepted truth with really no basis in fact. That's my beef here.
