This stuff never stops amazing me. Garcia would be criticized for fighting a title holder but GGG is commended for fighting never weres. It bottles the mind.

(BTW it's not that I disagree with you Master, I'm just speaking on the absurd double standard)
Garcia is in a deep division with guys like Provodnikov, Demarco, Soto, Lundy, Alvarado, and rematches with Matthysse and Khan, and plenty of guys at Welter

GGG doesn't really have anyone other than Sturm, Quilin, and DeGale (Martinez has been out, and Barker retired) at Middle

Peterson would be a decent opponent but well Garcia is expected to do more since beating Lucas and has the opposition to be able to do so, that's where the double standard starts

So Garcia should fight worse fighters because they're there? The more I listen the more confused I become. Forget the good fighter that would be a unification fight because there's guys that are unproven. Wow

Some of those fighters are not worse, Peterson is not worthy just because he holds an alphabet strap does not mean people forgetting he got knocked out.

What more do you want GGG to do?

how are Provodnikov, Alvarado, or Matthysse worse than Peterson? Peterson got a gift draw against Ortiz and a win against Khan where he tested positive for banned substances right after, then was KTFO by Lucas, so don't see how he should be the front runner by any means

Obviously Provo and Matthyse are better opponents than Peterson right now, but Garcia could do a lot worse than Peterson and probably will by the sounds of it. If Peterson has actually asked for this fight I don't see why anyone would have a problem with it, certainly makes sense in the meantime. However unworthy, Peterson does still have the IBF strap, it's a good thing if he's interested in fighting the other champs

Asking for a "unification" speaks to the emptiness of trinkets coming from a guy who agreed to a 'gimmick clause' so he could keep his belt in the likelihood he would be sparked out. Peterson wants to relevant again, that's what he wants. Garcia doesn't gain anything with a Peterson after his win over Matthysse, that was the whole point.

Im not going to judge Peterson too much off the Lucas fight.. Danny has a different style and I believe Peterson matches up better with him..

    Peterson can beat Garcia..

Who would suggest this is a bad fight? In my opinion, it's the opposite. It's a great fight and the most competitive fight out there for Garcia. I somewhat doubt he would take the risk before moving up to 147. I bet he takes a "gimme" fight. Is Peterson advised by Haymon?
