I tried to find that video with no luck. There are videos with Floyd saying he wants Tszyu, Mosley, DeLaHoya etcetera but the difference with the training video was there was something(and I can't remember what)in it that made it sound like it was lined up. I found lots of articles where both KT and Floyd were talking about each other at that time but both kept mentioning the Showtime/HBO problem.

I came back because one article I found, and I'm not sure how reliable "The Sweet Science is, discussed something interesting from the time I was not aware of. Gattis people were trying to squash the Floyd fight(I remember that) on the idea his legal troubles would interfere with the fight. According to that publication a back up plan was in place and arranged.(this was the part I wasn't aware of) if the Gatti fight didn't come off apparently Floyd and Cotto had a deal in place to meet that sumer instead.

I can't express how much I wish that would have happened.

Floyd v Gatti would be nothing in comparison to Floyd v Cotto.

Cotto and Hatton were ringside for the Gatti fight, and they kept talking about a potential fight with those two but neither seemed to be calling out Mayweather at the time.

With all respect to Cotto, I think that wasn't the right time for him to fight Mayweather, he was still way too inexperienced on the world stage. IMO he made HUGE improvements between 2005 and 2008 and really came into his own.

Although yeah, I do think it would have been a better fight than Floyd/Gatti.

I disagree, that was Cotto at his peak, he was starting to be drained at the weight which is why he moved up, but when he was at this weight he was a bulldog.

Meh he was unproven at that weight and his best win at 140 was vs Malignaggi.

I prefer the non-weight drained 147 Cotto who was smashing speeders like Zab and Mosley.

He did not really smash Shane, that was close. Zab gave Cotto a good fight but Cotto was ferocious at light welterweight.

Floyd vs. Tszyu would have been a great fight. Floyd always seemed to have a lot of respect for KT.
