Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.

He also was the female lead role in titanic according to Peter Griffin.
He also recently did a movie called The Master. He players a character that was based on L. Ron Hubbard. The movie was slow but I thought he was excellent. I don't know much about Dianetics but the movie portrayed the formation of the cult or whatever it is. Despite watching the movie I still know nothing about Diantetics. Still, Hoffman was great in it.

Money life style, but drugs fuck you up simple fact in life, actor or not as adults you no the
risk of drugs, remember people he made the choice of putting that shit into his body.!
In the fame game he will be one more to add to the list, who have died before there time
but as we all no he will not be the last.![]()

Not sure he died before his time. He was a drug addict. He was a great performer. He's dead.
I don't see any difference between him and the thousands of drug addicts that will die today who are labled "low lifes."
Whether you have millions or not a pot to piss in, you are seeking the same escape when using drugs. Which includes booze. One man is a genius, the other is a fool, they both do the same thing. Humans.

Hoffman was one of the very few serious actors in today's Hollywood. He was extremely good.
With that said, drugs are beneficial to artists cuz it helps them think outside the box and really get into it.. some of you might disagree with this notion but it's only true and as a person who is involved in the industry, I see it all the time.
Even in places like Korea where little marijuana usage is considered as a huge offense, most artists, mainly the singers smoke weed and do heroine. Often times their manager would encourage them to get high before recording sessions..
Beethoven and Mozart were on opium when did created their masterpieces..
Ive played the piano for the longest time and I can tell you first hand that I play much better when im high.. I dont smoke no more btw..
Drugs make a better artist... it doesnt apply for all artists but there is a reason why so many of them areinto it..
Hey Finito, I also have some experience in the subject, I disagree that drugs truly help in any endeavor. I think they actually bring you away from your true self. For many people they do lessen inhibitions but this could be achieved naturally but it takes effort. In the end, for many, drugs stiffen creativity. Don't get me wrong, I am not coming at this from a tea totalers point of view, just expressing years of observation.

Thats messed up and very unfortunate, more so for his two sons. I wish the endless stream of news anchors and arm chair treatment specialist who spill out everytime some millionaire addict dies would also take the time to do career bios of every Joe Sixpack everyman and highlight the struggle. In the span of 15 minutes we heard some jackass say 'drugs only take our best and brightest' and then call heroin addiction almost the same as a incurable and terminal cancer. That is horse shit and a slap in the face to survivors. More so as a celebrity the avenues and assets are there for treatment, the very best of in and out patient programs but it boils down to the individual and the follow through they are willing to commit to. You can have a million dollars but the fork in the road is the power to starve an addiction with it, or feed it. Without cash you buy crack, not powder. Drugs and creativity I'm not so sure about. I used to buy into that with ganja and lsd but the creativity of doing cannot reduce to sitting in a room and looking forward to pulling faces and cartoons out of the "breathing walls" and colors you can taste. Anyway, another story all together![]()
Yeah that film was strange....interesting but really really odd.
As for drugs sparking some creativity in artists, yeah drugs can help you find a muse, but they should not become a crutch nor should they be held on high (pardon the pun) as the sole reason for great art. Plenty of people site drug use for helping them portray better what is in their mind's eye by helping the artists shed inhibitions, but in the end the drug only helped you get to a comfortable (or uncomfortable depending who you are and what you do) state of being.
I have found the use of certain substances helpful in various tasks be it dealing with the mundane world, painting, sports, appreciating art, what have you...I've also found those substances a hindrance on specific tasks as well.

what's the difference between one more dead junkie in Hollywood, and one more dead junkie in a boarded up house in Middlesbrough or Detroit?
About a million sanctimonious bullshit posts on the internet

He went out in style and at a very decent intermediary age. Most will die with a heart attack or a stroke and he went out looking for heroin heaven. It's sad that he is dead as he was a good actor, but the media is harping on about it a bit much.

Thing is X has a point, he is totally correct junkie is a junkie I no seen many parents
crying over there children, as they lay them to rest.
Yes drugs drink you name it,! it's sad I tell you see your kid in a wooden box, in some crematorium,
or a hole in the ground. The child you brought up, people would never believe it would end this way,
the amount of this type of thing I see time and time again.
There is a say there for the grace of god go I ,it could because the thing you choice can fuck your
life up, seen many people do that, and no doubt I will see many more.!![]()

Heroin is apparently coming back big in the States and around the world, and I have no fucking clue why. It has the most unglamorous, disgusting image out of any drug. I can understand cocaine, because you kind of associate that with partying and also to rich and successful people.
Heroin has such a dirty image, of skinny dopers injecting needles into an arm covered with infected sores - looking like it has gangrene - in some dirty alleyway or a messy dope den. And it has the distinction of snuffing out so many artists over the years.
I have no idea what would tempt someone to use heroin, unless you hate yourself and have a death wish.

Actually, it was MI-III, and I remember thinking how I wasn't used to seeing him in that kind of villain role. He was more of a comedic actor to me. Although I thought he did a great job in Moneyball, portraying Art Howe as the Oakland Athletics' manager. All in all a very busy actor. One of those familiar faces that came out in just about every other film that would come out.
