I think Hughie would take price now but you dont risk throwing a 19 year old in with someone as experience as Price, so soon.

Joshua is 5 years older than Hughie. If he had Hughies schedule, he too would have started looking jaded.

Hughie is slowly coming away from the amateur style and looked good man handling Matt Grear. Come the end of this year, he will be a fearsome prospect as he maturs in to his frame.

On another note, Joshua is big strong and powerfull but I have a feeling there will be question marks as I had with Price when he gets upped in class. There were signs in the olympics that he will not be ale to deal with movement, like his first fight which he shouldnt have won, against Erislandy Savon.

Ask Dillion Whyte about Joshua. In Whytes first amateur fight he dropped Joshua a few times and beat him easily.

All good points really. Right now, Joshua looks more impressive having less fights. However, David Price looked impressive until somebody was hitting him back so judgement on how good any of these prospects are is reserved until they step it up.

As for what you said about Joshua having Hughie's schedule, we should discover this year if you're right, as Hearn is looking to have Joshua very busy this year. Not that I believe it'll be this many, but they've said they hope to have him out 10 times in 2014. That'll never happen, but he should be busy.

I thought he looked good the weekend. He looked fitter/sharper than he normally does. His lack of power is a bit obvious though, he best hope he develops some or he wont be going anywhere.

At this stage David Price would be 50/50 with Tyson Fury let alone Hughie.

Seeing Joshua easily KO guys that Fury can't put a dent in is a good measuring guide at the moment.

I cant believe people are still backing Price!

He is not a fighter. He's a very good puncher but he's certainly not a fighter. Put anyone in with him who is going to stand and punch him back and he will give up again.

Joshua looking great knocking over some journeymen that managed to last a bit longer with an 18 year old proves nothing. He is learning nothing. Im not going to criticise him for his level of opposition as he's only just turned pro and wont be stepping much up within the next few bouts but when he does, you will see how ponderous he is.

Hughie will get stronger and that power will come. Hes only just turned 19 for fuck sakes im sure you will all admit that you wee stronger at 24 than you were at 18/19

Hughie may have a hood chin, he's never been dropped and fought world class amateurs where he won gold at the world juniors. The one thing id add to Hughie, is Tysons spite. Tyson wants to hurt people. I liked watching him trying to get the extra punches in against Abell.

He's only lost to Tony Thompson twice who is a very good very underrated boxer. Tony Thompson called out YOUR BOY Tyson Fury and Tyson didn't want anything to do with him and rightfully so!

Oh and let me go ahead and post your immediate reaction
"But Pulev beat Thompson and Abell knockeddown Pulev and Fury stopped Abell"

and I'll respond with the simple fact that Tyson Fury fought Joey Abell instead of someone good, it's not like the big oaf didn't have options, but whatever we all know he's really hiding from Wlad. Tyson Fury is hiding from Wlad because he's scared and that's why he's talking so much.

Whether or not Hughie becomes a bigger puncher is yet to be seen. It's possible, of course, considering his age but it's not a given. Time will tell.

If Joshua is destroying the same men inside 6 minutes that Fury can't hurt in 6 rounds it would suggest that Joshua is a MUCH bigger puncher than Fury. That's a fact. It may also suggest that Joshua is much more talented and superior to Fury. That is not a fact yet. Time will tell.

Price might not be able to take it but he sure as fuck can give it. He didn't become a non-dangerous walkover job for any prospect just because he failed against Thompson. He has the power to chin out any heavyweight in the world (apart from Oliver McCall).

Why can't he learn from experience? Did Fury not learn from his loss to Fat John McDermott? He came back a better fighter and righted it. Price could be back among the top guys within a year.

I do agree that fury and his promoter want nothing to do with tony the tiger.

Fury is good and he must be better than david price when you look at the opponents they have faced but he wants no part of an old dangerous fighter in tony thompson.

That's a good point, let's try to remember that Peter owns the big mouth not Hughie.
Every time I've read Hughie's comments, they've seemed respectful and realistic.
