Utter BS... Glen Johnson is a shell of a man. A shell of a man. Before their fight, no one in HELL knew who Groves was- and still no one knew who he really was UNTIL he started to call out Froch. He made a name for himself, no doubt- but DeGale's last three oppoonets could have beaten Johnson too. And, styles make fights- Groves did in Smith quicker. No biggie.

Every pro fight Groves has had has been televised in the UK. As amazing as it may seem, you don't need American approval to become a successful boxer.
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
Johnson was a year removed from fighting Froch to a close decision and fighting Lucian Bute and yet he was just Groves 16th pro fight. Also to say nobody knew who Groves was is utter BS. Over here in the UK Groves fought on numerous David Haye undercards meaning every fight he has was televised. Also, as soon as Degale left Warren and signed for Hennessy he started to fight in small hall shows on Channel 5 dragging in average viewing figures and a poor gate as oppose to Groves who was fighting on Sky in front of larger audiences and dragging in higher viewing figures. As a result, many people in this country knew who George Groves was.

We have many mediocre fighters like Degale in america.. like Badou Jack, yusaf mack etc...
I thought DeGale looked alright to be honest. The guy he was in with was a bit of an odd ball and hard as nails to boot. DeGale looked strong later on in the fight which was good to see. If he's been as injury prone as he says over the past few years and he's now fit you cant blame him for having a bit of fun in there and taking risks. Bika will be a big ask for him but he's not going to be as sloppy as that when it really counts.
I actually warmed to him a bit. He spoke well and sounded quite humble pre fight.

I agree with most of what you said. Groves has improved a lot, but the main thinking behind that is his performance against Froch. While he looked beating Smith, Sierra, Johnson, Barakat and Alcoba I dont think any of them would cause degale any trouble either.
DeGale has been injured but he has also had more fights since the loss to Groves then Groves has and while he hasnt been fighting great fighters the likes of Wilczewski and Davis are just as good as the guys Groves has been fighting (bar Froch). If they were fighting soon Groves would rightly be favorite but there is not a huge difference in them. I think Id back Degale at 2/1 or bigger which would mean hed have a good chance.
