Wilder is already facing Malik Scott in the eliminator... and if he beats him, then what should he do? Nothing else aside from fight for the title- and with that, a real top HW. And then when he wins that, he will have a target on his back and truly can't run from the top HW's.
So if it is a dud in waiting, we have no more than 2, maybe, 3 fights, before we find out what Wilder is all about- even if he wins a trinket vs. Arreola or Stiverne.
I don't feel Pulev, Thompson, Wlad, Haye, Fury, Boystov, Povetkin, Jennings, etc.... are just gonna let him just sit there and fight non ranked fighters or fighters not in the top ten. The WBC would not allow it... he would have to drop the belt. And why come all this way to vacate the belt or be stripped??

I would not mind Wilder fighting Wlad.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Wilder has fought bums, been carefully managed and is getting a title shot, for Vitali's old strap, which is looking increasingly worthless.
