So would you send NATO troops into the Crimean peninsula?
#1 then that means it wouldn't be the "invasion" part that would be difficult then would it there Mr. Wordsmith? It would be the OCCUPATION that would be difficult and that was only difficult because of the small number of forces the Coalition Forces used AND the idiotic idea to oust 100% of everyone from Saddam down to the head dog catcher in bumfuck Iraq. We lost the stability of the status quo before rearranging things and that was the major issue...don't know how many times I have to go over that part but whatever.

#2 Yes, on a peace keeping mission. If the Russians are dumb enough to fire on NATO troops then well it would be time to set things right.

Listen I know Russia is feeling pretty fucking awesome at the moment due to their resurgent economy (based on oil production/drilling....kind of like what America COULD have if Obama wasn't such a fucking idiot) and they've had some little victories with their military as they've been unopposed by the "grown ups" of the world....but if the world doesn't hurry up and give Russia a reality check then the USSR is going to be back in a very big and very real way....and I'm certain YOU of all people will be wet your pants excited about your comrades getting their act together.
Nobody in the States even mentioned any occupation problems. You lot were told the troops were going to get sweets and flowers thrown at them by different Iraqi ethnic groups who had no past history of conflict. Once the troops managed to drive up the only road in Iraq to Baghdad Bush changed the subject from the nonexistent WMDs to we have to stay there to bring them democracy, if we don't bring them democracy the terrorists win.

So you'd actually send NATO troops into an area of land full of Russian military bases and Russian troops. And if the Russians took exception to this you'd start a war. Luckily no NATO members or the United States, as back in 2008 in South Osseatia, are dumb or suicidal enough to want to send troops in. I don't even think there is a single US politician advocating sending troops in, even the ones who work for the US war industry. Just you.

And Russia hasn't won a victory here. Putin invaded the Crimea because everythinghe'd spent the last few years trying to do in Ukraine has failed dismally. The Russian version of Fox News is telling their bedwetters that the US/CIA/EU have overthrown a democratically elected government in the Ukraine and have extended the criminal EU a thousand miles east right to the Russian border since the fall of the Soviet Union.

Russia has blown through 15% of their foreign currency reserves propping up the rouble in the past week. Based on this and the prospect of sanctions and foreign customers buying energy elsewhere they don't have the income or the currency reserves to take over even other parts of the Ukraine that don't want them there.

They may just about afford to hang onto the Crimea. Forget about any other areas of the former Soviet Union, they just couldn't afford to fund any kind of extensive military occupation anywhere. As usual you're wetting the bed over nonexistent "threats" that have no basisi in reality.
