Gonzalez put the fear of god in him… he's gone soft!
Gonzalez put the fear of god in him… he's gone soft!
Looks like he lost some balls for sure...
First he faked an injury to get out of a rematch, then he pushed the date back only to cancel it all together, and now he wants to fight a superbamtam at a catchweight..
Like I said, I dont blame him but he's looking soft ..
Only fighter who lost out is jhonny .. now where is he gonna go..
Mares just gave Jhonny a gift for his retirementit was all a fix

Still interested in Mares-Santa Cruzit was it talks before Gonzalez derailed things

Cold Heart and a Weak Mind
True, Cruz will be in his face all night and that is what makes thing fight so intriguing..
Despite the loss to Jhonny, Mares is still a very good fighter. He can box, he can brawl, he can counter punch, and he can fight going backwards ... he's very capable..
Santa cruz might never be the same after a fight with mares...
This one could turn out like Marquez-Vazquez!
I know Mares is smarter than that but he might not have a choice but to get into a tear up when cruz is up in his face all night long..
He's just moved to feather and now they want him to move up another division and fight a legitimate champ for the first fight after he got sparked in the second round. That's asking a hell of a lot.
He's just trying to do the best thing for his long term career. You can't blame him either.
@FinitoElDinamita, should this fight happen I want a sig bet, because I've said for the last 18 months that Santa Cruz would maul Mares.
Mares just needs to get back into the ring. The longer he is out the more unsure he will become. He is in the same boat as Nathan Cleverly who lost his undefeated record by being knocked out. Psychologically it has affected their confidence so much that they are hesitating to get back into the ring.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
is Jhonny a GB fighter?
