At the top level boxing is far ahead of MMA but for the casual fan on both sports I think UFC is coming strong, mainly because in boxing apart from the top fights, there are so many mismatches. In UFC there is rarely such a big mismatch

Well technically he didn't know who the heavyweight boxing champ was either. "Klit brothers" means he couldn't identify Wlad. Just saying...
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
Yes fan friendly surrounded by tap out hoody wearing dickheads, salt of the earth.![]()
Boxing will always be the number one fighting sport obviously.
Not enough people are stupid enough to participate in MMA as a sport to raise it to a truly professional level like boxing is.
Like Larry Merchant said you can't take a sport seriously in which you can be a world champion with a record of 6-2 or something like that.
The art of punching slick targets and learning how to slip punches exclusively requires far greater reflexes and speed than kicking and a lot higher skills than rolling around on the fucking floor.
I find MMA really boring, I've never seen a MMA fight which I can describe as a really terrific event like so many great boxing matches are.
Besides, MMA is really a local American contest with marginal worldwide involvement at this stage where as boxing has become a global sport.

MMA is here to stay... but will it ever be bigger and better than boxing? Most certainly not.
It's like soccer/football vs. rugby. Rugby is/was SUPPOSED to be the more aggressive style of field ball when compared to soccer, but is it "really" bigger and better than soccer?
You can answer that question. Rugby isn't going anywhere. It has it's following. But we know what the #1 sport in the world is- and it's soccer.

LMAO, your ignorance towards MMA is unreal ! Anderson Silva is the 2nd most popular athlete/sportsman in Brazil which has a huge MMA following.
The UK has many MMA (UFC) events each year which sell out within hours of the tickets going on sale. The same can be said for ticket sales in other European countries as well as Australia.
Just because you find it boring does not mean everyone else does. I find you boring, so stick that in ya pipe and smoke it fool !![]()

i think if jds can knock Cain out in 10 secounds then i think Wald could to hell he could put him down with a jab even. If it goes to the ground Wlads fucked but in a street fight hell most boxers could proably get a punch off first or sucker punch them and it would be over.
Also Bean what about the big ufc stars that are going out like Silva and Gsp those were the big selling guess and one is out already. Anderson Silvia might come back but he most likely will get his ass kicked again no one is even close to them in ppv buys that are left.
Either this story is made up or he wasn't much of an MMA fan.
MMA has taken a lot of money away from boxing, not just in the short term but in the long term as well, because a lot of kids (potential future boxing champions) are heading to their local MMA gym instead of the boxing gym.
Boxing has never been faced with such viable, direct competition before. Up until UFC exploded in popularity, if you wanted to fight for a living and become rich and famous, you had to become a boxer (or if you wanted to make a living fake fighting, you could become a pro wrestler). There was no money in kickboxing, muay thai, amateur wrestling, judo, karate, ect. Now, MMA has the spotlight. Unless Money Mayweather, Pacquaio or Canelo are on the bill (and 2 of those 3 guys are probably going to be retired within the next few years), boxing just can't compete with the UFC.
MMA is newer, it's hipper, and the UFC is a much more fan-friendly organization.
