-Multiple free cards per month.
-Undercard fights of all PPV's on free TV.
-Big/exciting fights that the fans want to see get made (because its all in house and there's no I WONT WORK WITH THAT PROMOTER nonsense)
-Tons of interactive fan expos that make UFC superstars much more accessible than boxing's superstars. Fans get to meet and hang out with the champs and top p4p guys in the sport: can the same be said for the top boxing stars? On the MMA forum I post at, meeting UFC superstars is a very common occurance: how many people here have met Mayweather, Pacquiao, Canelo, ect?
The UFC has taken over. Boxing will always be around, but it has much less cultural significance since the UFC exploded years back.
When you argue against it, you just end up looking stupid.
What exactly do you mean by the "UFC has taken over?"
Floyd Mayweather (USA) is the highest earning sportsman in the world. Wlad Klitschko (UKR) consistently sells out 50,000 seat stadiums with 10+ million watching on German TV. Froch-Groves (UK) are rematching in front of 80,000 people at Wembley stadium. Pac-Rios (China) just happened with an audience of over 100 million Chinese alone.
There are literally dozens of boxing bills from every corner of the world every single week.
How has the UFC harmed boxing if it continues to flourish all over the world?
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
I almost cannot believe what I am reading. UFC is popular really in America. Worldwide it isn't worth a drop of piss in the dessert.
So what your really saying is that America is the world..
A totally racist position!!
Boxing is a worldwide sport with many times the popularity of UFC of course! Pretty much shits over your argument don't you think??
"Enough with the games mate! Your messing with the Grand Master!"
Lennox Lewis
The same can be said about boxing by MMA fans. Look at a few showcase fights for boxing - Klit v Povetkin, Floyd v anyone, Haye v Wlad. THese would have some of the highest viewing (particularly of casual fans). These fights were shit and would put people off watching more boxing.
I agree that boxing is better and hate watching fights where one guy sits on another for 3 or 5 rounds, but there are plenty of MMA wars too.
Mma is fuckin boring and it sucks. Its gay too watching bunch of grown men humping each other in a figure gay triangle or whatever the fuck they call it..
Guys who werent good enough for boxing decided to step down to mmgay.. mmay is an inferior craft and that's a fact
All u need to be is a whiteboy, get some mean tatoos, shave ur head, listen to hardcore rock and we have a new mma fighter. Oh yea, u also have to wear some affliction shirt and look like a fuckin dickhead..
Boxing is an art and its an event that everybody can enjoy.. on a big boxing night, you will see all kinds of people from politicians, high rollers, celebrities, gangsters, CEOs, etc... boxing is universal..
Some faggot ass mma is for college kids and middle aged white men. Audience is limited and the sport is designed to attract the white folks.
Do you play a caricature of someone or are these your real views cause they're effin hillarious. There are people with great skill in mma gsp, silva, fedor, penn, cro cop, most of them were at a very high level in their respective arts before they entered mma. Mma in the beginning was mostly just a bunch of toughguys with no skill but that is far from the case anymore and your views are beyond ignorant.
Mma featherweights and the small division fighters in general are pretty skilled but I havent seen too many skilled guys in the upper divisi8n.
They train in every style so while they are men of many trade, they are masters of nothing.
Im sure there are small percentage of mma fighters who are highly skilled though but not much.
Crocop was decent in K-1 due to the lack of talents.. u ask any Muay tai/kickboxing master and they will tell u that cro cop isnt that skilled technically.. he is just strong and has a good side kick..
Maybe 100 years from now, they will evolve but right now, meh...
As I said, mma fighters are men of many trades, but are masters of nothing. That dont appeal to me but to each is own..
Id rather watch boxers who specialize in one area , the fists... there are so much skills involved..
Come on now they are full of PED's, UFC slick programing may appeal to kids, but some silly git
shouting like a dip stick, on the tale of the tapes, if you like carnivals that's okay, you may like
a burger but I like a T bone, yes both are both beef but one is made of inferior mince.![]()
At the end of the day, the general public chooses UFC. In North America, it's much cooler to be an MMA fighter than it is to be a boxer. The boxer is no longer considered the baddest man on the planet: that's now the MMA fighter.
And it's only expanding. MMA is gaining big popularity in Europe, especially England where it always draws big numbers. And with more and more European stars emerging, the popularity is only going to go up.
MMA is in a constant state of steady growth. What's boxing doing? Two of boxing's biggest draws are probably going to be retired within the next few years. Mayweather is likely going to try to hit 50-0 and leave. Pac is past his prime.
