The simple facts are I have tried to watch MMA, and it does nothing to excite me some may think
it's skilful, others may not we must remember as individuals we like different things.
Yes in MMA they take there licks, sorry to say I would not go to a MMA show, I no a few that
are MMA fighters, I've had free tickets but declined.
I have paid to watch Pro and amateur boxing, so to. me BOXING IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE No 1 .
Amateurish. Rolling around on the fucking floor. Those are things that come to mind.
Kickboxing can be shown to be completely inferior to boxing. Whilst theoretically and in some instances MMA should and would be more effective than boxing I still think the toppest level boxers would KO most MMA guys. Show me an MMA fighter that could get past the long powerful fast jab of Wladimir or Lewis, or one that can succeed in "taking down" a raging prime Mike Tyson? The don't even look like they could beat them imo. But that's just an opinion.
In terms of watchability you will never find a Manny Pacquiao or an Erik Morales, a Mike Tyson or Lennox Lewis in MMA.

Boxing is number 1.
However I remember Lennox sparring with Jeremy Williams and Lewis was battering him. Williams is a black belt and basically dropped Lennox twice hard on the floor with his martial arts moves because he could not beat him at boxing.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
In my post above I made mistake, I meant kickboxing can be shown INFERIOR to boxing lol

I don't think any boxer is slow or weak enough to be troubled by a kick from a comparable sized athlete. I think the MMA guy must secure a takedown to beat the boxer which is a likely scenario. However is is also likely that any of those guys trying such a move on a professional boxer is going to quickly have their brains punched in or simply KO'd if they do not succeed.
Boxing is the closest and fastest striking art therefore requires the fastest of reflexes than any other form of combat. That much will never change.
